Miles: Life After UAA

One of the things we are super proud of this year is being a part of the Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA)! This April, 10 more students graduated into careers of their own as certified CNC Machinists. To see a glimpse of their future, we caught up with Miles, who accepted a position with a well-respected manufacturing company in his community a mere 2 weeks after graduating from the Uniquely Abled Academy back in 2019. Since then, his life has transformed in the best ways possible: he has his own apartment, a great salary, and time enough for his favorite hobbies.

Marina is the Communications & Marketing Supervisor at Jay Nolan Community Services. Her role includes outreach and spreading awareness of the mission of the organization through storytelling, social media, and other online communications efforts. Marina is a lifelong learner and holds as a Bachelors degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and an Masters degree from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
