A Home of Her Own

December 16, 2021

When Anna moved into her condo, she instantly felt a sense of ownership of her space that she’s never felt before. Support services enabled her to live with a roommate who sees her role as a friend and companion, rather than a caretaker. Anna especially appreciates the autonomy she has with her staff, who she says “lets me do my own thing without worrying every second.” This trusting approach to support has pushed her self-esteem way up and given her a new found independence, something that her parents never believed could be possible for their daughter.
