JNCS Welcomes Incoming Director Edward Amey
Los Angeles, CA — Jay Nolan Community Services, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that provides customized support services to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, is pleased to announce the selection of Edward Amey as incoming Executive Director, to succeed retiring Executive Director, Jeffrey Strully.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Edward’s experience and skills as our new Executive Director,” said Clare Deffense, Board Chair, “He is committed to the mission and values of Jay Nolan, and we are confident that he will be a strong champion for our agency, our employees, and the people we serve.”
Mr. Amey has more than 19 years of nonprofit and for-profit leadership experience. Throughout his career, Edward has excelled in executive leadership, communication, alliance and partnership building, as well as strategic planning.
Currently, Mr. Amey is Managing Director for the Institute for the Redesign of Learning, a leader in special educational, mental health, and adult transitional and supported employment programs. He is directly responsible for IRL’s $23M annual operating budget and more than 350 employees. He has also held management and social work positions at Children’s Bureau of Southern California, and has extensive experience with local Regional Centers, Departments of Rehabilitation and Mental Health, school districts, and other state and local agencies. Edward obtained his Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Master of Science from California State University, Northridge.

Mr. Amey will take over the leadership of Jay Nolan Community Services on February 4; Jessica Morrow will be Acting Executive Director during the month of January, following Jeff Strully’s retirement.
The mission of Jay Nolan Community Services, Inc. (JNCS) is to enable individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Developmental Disabilities to live fulfilling lives as members of the community by providing support services customized to their individual needs.
