Luz Chavez Promoted to Chief Program Officer

We’re excited to announce the promotion of Luz Chavez to Chief Program Officer (CPO). Luz has served as our Northern California Regional Director, where she has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to advancing our mission.

A track record of impact

During her tenure as Regional Director, Luz has led and collaborated on several high‑impact initiatives that strengthened services and expanded access across Northern California, including:

  • Innovative hiring strategies to build and sustain a strong, mission‑aligned workforce.
  • Collaborative service design enhancements that improved program quality
  • Growth and reach, including opening multiple offices to better serve local communities.
  • Championing new initiatives like bringing the Uniquely Abled Academy to the Bay Area

 

These efforts have expanded our reach and elevated program quality—ensuring that people with disabilities have meaningful opportunities to live self‑determined, connected, and fulfilling lives.

What’s ahead for our CPO
As Chief Program Officer, Luz will oversee program development and execution across all regions and service lines, ensuring we continue to deliver impactful services and innovate in response to community needs. To ensure a smooth transition, Luz will spend the remainder of 2025 preparing Northern California for this change and onboarding to the CPO role. Her promotion will be effective January 1, 2026.
