Giving Back to Our Community
When it comes to loved ones, there is no limit on the lengths each and every one of us would go to ensure they were well taken care of. Jay Nolan Community Services offers dedication and resources to all our supported individuals. One reason JNCS is able to provide such individualized and personal programs and services is because of the generosity of our donors.
One such donor and JNCS Board member, Sherrie Vamos, is proud to support Jay Nolan as we strive to provide the very best services customized for each person. When asked why Sherrie was a donor, she replied, “As a family receiving services, it was our responsibility to give back. Nonprofits rely on private support, and it was my way of thanking Jay Nolan for supporting my son.” Giving back is Sherrie’s way of helping Jay Nolan create and maintain unique and creative services for the people we serve. As a member of the Board of Directors, Sherrie dedicates her time and effort to enhancing our fundraising and board expansion. She took a personal interest in how Jay Nolan’s programs worked and saw the opportunity to expand JNCS’s fundraising campaigns.

Where Do Donations Go?
Jay Nolan is partially funded by the state of California’s Regional Center. So, private donations allow JNCS to enhance and start new programs that are customized to each individual. Donations help allow Jay Nolan to fulfill our mission of supporting individuals using employees who provide a high level of personal, caring, and individualized support. This often requires supplementary overtime for staff, additional services, and an enhanced level of dedication that is not covered by the rate set by the Regional Center.
There are many ways to support services for the people we serve, no matter your budget.
- $10/Month: Become a member of Journey Partners, our monthly giving community. You can feel great about setting up this convenient monthly donation and providing a predictable base of support.
- Any Amount: Make a one-time gift to Jay Nolan Community Services. Your donation provides personalized 1:1 support to more than 400 individuals each year. Together we can make sure all people are empowered, included, and embraced.
- Free: Sign Up for Ralphs Community Rewards or Amazon Smile. These companies will donate a percentage of your purchases to the organization of your choice at no cost to you!
- Legacy Giving: Help individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive with a gift in your will, trust, or investment account
Sherrie expresses the importance of giving back to the community and encourages her family and friends to donate. Giving back to Jay Nolan provides supported individuals the opportunity to be more fully engaged in their community via working or volunteering. Inclusion is vital and everyone should have the opportunity to participate in their community.
