portrait of JNCS CEO Edward AmeyFebruary greetings!

As we experience these unusually warm weather and lovely days, I wish you all a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Love and compassion are at the core of our mission here at Jay Nolan Community Services.  Love and compassion are rooted in respect, not sympathy.  We are committed to ensuring every individual we support is empowered, included, and embraced, by providing person-centered services respectfully and inclusively.  Why is that so important?  Because we believe everyone has the right to live fulfilling lives as members of the community, contributing their unique gifts.

This year at Jay Nolan, we are enthusiastically looking forward.  We have faced a very challenging 2020 and 2021, and we are looking forward to a much brighter 2022.  We have added amazing new team members, our existing staff have persevered and grown, we are building capacity for expansion, and most importantly – we are unwavering in our compassion and commitment to the people we serve.  It is my joy, honor and privilege to serve as the CEO of Jay Nolan Community Services, alongside the amazing workforce that helps make the mission of Jay Nolan real in the lives of people, every day.

The pandemic has challenged us to be creative in maintaining community.  But, we have met that challenge, and are committed to making sure it includes us all.  When everyone has the opportunity to contribute, we build a more beautiful world characterized by love.  With 46 years of experience and perseverance propelling us forward, Jay Nolan Community Services has an amazing future, and that future is all about love.

As the American historian, Stephen Ambrose so optimistically puts it, “The past is a source of knowledge, and the future is a source of hope.”  We have faced joys and hurts, enthusiasm and exhaustion, and fear and hope together, and this year promises to be a year of opportunity. May we rely on the love and dedication we have felt throughout these challenging times to shape our attitudes of hopefulness and our actions each day, to help make 2022 the bright year we know it can be.

Thank you for being a part of our community, and I look forward to a bright 2022!

Edward Amey, MS
CEO, Jay Nolan Community Services
