Presenter Cary Griffin comes back for a second training on this important topic. He will share proven best practices to building satisfying, meaningful jobs around a person’s preferences, skills, talents, abilities and goals. This presentation is designed to expand the world of employment opportunities for people with autism and other disabilities. Learning objectives include:
Understanding the Three Vocational themes
Framing the Informational Interview Process
Understanding the proper use of Resource Ownership and other Economic Development
Strategies in Job Development
Griffin shares his strategies for taking Discovery information and refining several vocational themes, into what he calls concrete solutions based on a functional economic development approach to employment. In the past two decades Griffin has co-authored books, built communities of economic cooperation, created high performance organizations, and focused on creating meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities.

Presenter Cheryl Jorgensen, PhD, from Institute on Disability / UCED. Since 1985, Dr. Jorgensen has worked with teachers, parents and administrators to increase commitment and capacity for including students with disabilities in general education classes. Dr. Jorgensen is the director of the National Inclusive Education Initiative (NIEI) and is a member of a national coalition of leaders promoting Universal Design for Learning and Inclusive Education.
